With older students, I would also like to incorporate some sort of writing activity after reading this book as well. I would do this activity with younger students. I would cut out pictures of the real animals with their names and pass out different stacks to different groups and have them each share to the class at the end. Students could classify their animals like the ways the book did or create their own. The book groups specific animals that have similar characteristics like bright colors, special warning signs, eye spots, and many others. One way I would implement this book in my classroom would be to allow my students to sort the animals into categories that they choose on their own.

I would say that this book would be appropriate for grades 1-4 because of the fairly simple language and ability to lean on the pictures to understand the descriptions as well. The author provides pictures and short paragraphs to describe each animal which provides for an easy and interactive read. It highlights how each animal’s unique qualities contribute to their ability to survive in their habitats and how it affects their interactions with other animals. This book talks about animals who are unique compared to animals that we may be familiar with. Look at Me!: How to Attract Attention in the Animal World Is an informational text that highlights animals that stand out in their natural habitats.
